The spider genus Pholcus contains the cellar spider P. phalangioides, often called the "daddy longlegs". There are 361 accepted species in the genus according to October 2021 in World Spider Catalog. Confusion often arises because the name "Daddy longlegs" is also applied to two other unrelated arthropods: the harvestman and the crane fly.
