Sitophilus zeamais, commonly known as the maize weevil, is a small beetle belonging to the family Curculionidae. It is a major pest of stored grains, particularly maize (corn). Adult weevils are about 3-4 mm in length and have a dark brown coloration. They infest grains by laying eggs inside them, and the larvae feed on the grain, causing damage and reducing its quality.
