Eleodes suturalis, commonly known as the sutural darkling beetle, is a species of beetle belonging to the family Tenebrionidae. It is found in the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. This beetle is characterized by its elongated body, black coloration, and distinct sutures or grooves on its elytra (wing covers). It is known for its ability to emit a foul-smelling odor as a defense mechanism when threatened.
